Description
Weyerhaeuser awarded $111,500 in philanthropic grants across northwest Montana through its Giving Fund in 2025.
This year, a total of 31 grants were awarded to nonprofits, community organizations and school districts in Kalispell, Columbia Falls, Whitefish and other rural areas of Montana.
The Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund supports communities throughout the United States and Canada by investing directly where the company operates. Each operating community establishes a Giving Fund advisory committee made up of local employees who determine funding priorities and review grant applications to address local needs.
In the Flathead Valley, the Giving Fund committee features representatives from both the Columbia Falls MDF facility and the Kalispell lumber mill, ensuring that grant decisions align with the priorities of community members in the region.
In Columbia Falls there were six grants totaling $26,300. Receiving grants were Columbia Falls Academic Foundation, Columbia Falls Firefighters Inc., Columbia Falls High School Speech and Debate, Columbia Falls Historical Society, Gateway to Glacier Trail Inc. and the Glacier National Park Conservancy.
Weyerhaeuser will begin accepting applications for its 2026 Giving Fund grant cycle on Feb. 1, 2026. Eligible organizations located within Montana operating communities are encouraged to learn more and submit applications online at wy.com/givingfund.
