Description
Lemonade Day Flathead has been moved to Saturday, June 28, due to a weather forecast for this weekend showing a high chance of rain.
The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce had originally scheduled the annual event for June 21, but unseasonably cool weather expected across the region has prompted the change.
Youth in kindergarten through eighth grade participate in the program to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. They can participate in a series of workshops learning about business development, which then culminates in Lemonade Day when the young entrepreneurs apply their knowledge by operating lemonade stands throughout the community.
Jenn Cronk, workforce and special initiatives director for the chamber, said the decision was made in order to provide youth entrepreneurs the best opportunity for a safe, fun, and successful experience.
“This decision wasn’t made lightly,” Cronk said, “but we want every youth participant to have the best chance to shine, connect with customers, and enjoy the day without the added challenge of cold rain.”
The community is encouraged to visit the stand map for up-to-date stand locations and operating dates and times at lemonadeday.org/flathead/stands-map.
