Description
A 40-year-old man awaiting trial on charges stemming from a confrontation with a neighbor in September is back behind bars after allegedly drinking and driving on New Year's Day.
Prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Michael Kraig Anderson's bond in Flathead County District Court following his Jan. 1 arrest in Kalispell. Anderson pleaded guilty to a single count of operating a non-commercial vehicle with alcohol concentration of 0.08% BAC or greater, first offense, the day after his arrest.
Booked back into the county jail on Jan. 3, Anderson remains behind bars with bail set at $25,000.
Anderson pleaded not guilty on Oct. 30 to felony criminal endangerment, misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer and two counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief in connection with the Sept. 30 showdown on the 300 block of East California Street. Kalispell Police officers found him arguing with another man about 7:54 a.m. while responding to a report of a dog running loose in the neighborhood, according to court documents.
Anderson allegedly had used a pool cue to smash the back window of the other man's vehicle shortly before officers arrived. Ignoring their attempts at conversation, he headed inside his home, court documents said.
But he reappeared, allegedly carrying a roughly 3-foot piece of wood, soon after. Again, ignoring the officers, Anderson headed to a neighbor's home and tried to get inside, according to court documents.
The officers eventually used projectiles to take Anderson into custody, though he allegedly continued to struggle as they handcuffed him.
An omnibus hearing in Anderson's felony case is scheduled for Feb. 4 with a pretrial conference set for Feb. 25. Judge Paul Sullivan is presiding over the case.
