Description
Prosecutors in August opened a new case against a Ferndale man already awaiting trial in Flathead County District Court on a felony criminal endangerment charge.
In charging documents filed Aug. 20, prosecutors alleged that Flathead County Detention Center personnel found a bag containing white powder in 53-year-old Clifford Scott Fisher's boot as they booked him into the facility late last year. Tests performed by the Montana State Crime Lab later determined the substance was methamphetamine, court documents said.
Prosecutors subsequently brought Fisher up on one count of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs. His arraignment before judge Danni Coffman is scheduled for Oct. 16.
In the criminal endangerment case, Fisher is expected to appear before Judge Dan Wilson on March 3, 2026 for a pretrial conference with a jury trial scheduled for late April.
In that case, prosecutors accuse Fisher of ramming his pickup into another vehicle in the parking lot of a Bigfork grocery store on Dec. 5, 2023. A child in the struck vehicle suffered an injury, according to court documents.
The parking lot was nearly empty when the collision occurred and a passenger riding with Fisher told authorities that he made no effort to avoid the other vehicle and sped up before the crash, court documents said.
Fisher pleaded not guilty at his Jan. 4, 2024 arraignment.
