Description
Flathead Electric Cooperative’s Roundup for Safety board of directors named Axel Rauscher, rising sophomore at Glacier High School and the son of Conrad and Dawn Rauscher of Kila, as this year’s youth director.
The board reviewed multiple applications for youth director, which is a non-voting position held by a student who joins the directors in evaluating nonprofit grant applications and presentations.
Board President Paul Austin noted, “We look for a high school student who is involved in the Flathead Valley’s communities and is interested in safety. They should also want to learn more about the nonprofit organizations, like volunteer fire departments, search and rescue units, and school districts, that work so hard to make our area an incredible place to live.”
Applicants submit a resume, transcript, letter of recommendation and a one-page cover letter or two-minute video explaining their interest in serving the Roundup for Safety program.
After deliberation, the board named Rauscher as the 2025-2026 youth director. He will be eligible for a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of his service to the Roundup for Safety Board.
Upon learning of his appointment, Rauscher said, “I am really excited to work with the Roundup for Safety board and help guide the decisions on how to invest member funds back into safer communities. This is going to be a great year.”
The Roundup for Safety Board considers grant applications each month. If your nonprofit is interested in applying for community safety funds, visit www.flatheadelectric.com/roundup or call Courtney Stone at 406-751-1820.
