Description
This article is a continuation of the article from last week regarding the Wednesday, June 11 the Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) Region 3 had their first biennial meeting for hunting regulation proposals this year. This will be a collection of the regional proposals covered during the meeting.
The first of the regional proposals is the Region 3-Elk, consider replacing brow-tined bull or antlerless harvest on a general license with an either-sex opportunity in HDs where antlerless harvest is allowed on the general license where appropriate. The objective is to provide increased hunter opportunity and reduce enforcement needs in areas where elk populations and bull ratios are robust.
The next proposal is another Region 3 involving the white-tailed deer. Consider extending season length (later and/or earlier) for white-tailed deer where appropriate. This will provide additional tools to reduce problematic concentrations of white-tailed deer and manage CWD risk.
