Flathead Valley Community College’s Marketing Communications Department earned seven awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 7, recognizing excellence in categories including Annual Report, Postcard, Poster, Outdoor Signage, Novelty, Computer-Generated Illustration and Communication Success Story.

Executive Director of College Relations, Marketing and Communications Michele Purcell said the recognition reflects the intention behind the team’s work.

“We’re honored to be recognized among so many talented professionals across our district. Every piece we create is focused on supporting student success, telling authentic stories and helping our community understand the opportunities FVCC provides. These awards affirm the care and creativity our team brings to that mission every day.”

In addition to the department’s recognitions, college President Jane Karas received National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 7’s 2025 Pacesetter of the Year award. The honor celebrates community college presidents and chancellors who demonstrate strong leadership and exceptional support for communications and marketing efforts on their campuses.

“It is an honor to be recognized, and I share this with the talented people across our campus who work every day to expand opportunities for students,” Karas said. “Our marketing team plays a vital role in connecting people with programs and services that can change lives, and I am proud to support their work.”

National Council for Marketing and Public Relations' District 7 includes community and technical colleges across Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington as well as the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the Yukon Territory. As one of the largest districts in National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, District 7 reflects a broad range of institutions committed to elevating student access and community engagement.
