Description
Ennis town commissioner Cory Hardy swore in two town commissioners and the new mayor at a ceremony held at town hall at 9 a.m. on Dec. 30.
Commissioner Mitch Abernathy was sworn into her new term which will continue from her current term. Nikki Hankins was also sworn in and her term will start on Jan. 1 along with new mayor Lisa Roberts.
Commissioner John Way was not present at the meeting due to travel obligations and will be sworn in after the first of the year. Mayor Roberts and her new commission will hold their first regular meeting on Jan. 8.
There is currently one position on the commission that is not filled. The new mayor and commissioners will be advertising for applicants for that position and plan to appoint a commissioner in early 2026.
