Description

Flathead County Library has new programming for all ages this fall.

The library continues to offer story times for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities for school-aged children at all locations, including after-school activities like LEGO Challenge, Game Day, and STEAM Space.

New this fall is Wednesday Workshop: Wild Explorers, a hands-on workshop where kids dive into the wonders of the natural world with the help of special guest experts from our local outdoor education community. See the children’s programming schedule at flatheadcountylibrary.org/programs/kids/.

The library is also bringing back popular teen programming designed for sixth through12th graders. Teen Fandom, LVL-Up, and Challenge Accepted programs will return to the Kalispell Teen Zone every Wednesday starting at 2 p.m.. Switch Days, when the Nintendo Switch is set up in Teen Zone, is also back at the Kalispell, Columbia Falls, and Bigfork library locations. For a complete list of teen programming, visit flatheadcountylibrary.org/programs/teens/.

Flathead County Library is also offering a new roster of programs for adults this fall. The library has teamed up with Flathead Audubon Society to bring the community several birding events, including presentations by local birding experts Dan Casey and Denny Olson at the Bigfork library, as well as a Wingspan game night at the Kalispell library.

In late September, the Columbia Falls branch will be hosting a screening of "Doug Follett – Glacier’s Poet," a documentary from Columbia Falls Historical Society’s oral history project. Additionally, the public is invited to enjoy a free Baroque Concert at the Bigfork and Kalispell libraries in October. Adults 55 and older should keep their calendars marked for an ongoing Creative Aging series. See the schedule of adult events at flatheadcountylibrary.org/programs/adults/.
